Will I have a career in music 10 years from now?
Many people go through all 4 of their highschool years thinking they know what they really want to do for a career. Some stick with that career, but quite a bit of students don't end up like anything they expected to be later in life. This is because people change over time, and with that, their goals can change.
This Question is interesting to me because I really want to set myself up to be successful in my future career. I will never be able to predict the future and determine what i will actually be doing in 10 years, but I do know that what I do and decide now will help determine that. If I stick with music into college, that will create a larger chance of a career in music. I know that all I can do now is explore everything there is to know about music, and accomplish as much as I can throughout highschool while I can. This question is interesting to me, because no one knows exactly where they'll be in 10 years.
What I do want to know, is if I do have a career in 10 years, how good will I be? I could be playing for a professional orchestra, or in a band in a coffee shop. Both would be impressive and hard work, but as of now I want to be playing in something big. What I don't know is if my rate of practicing will increase to where it needs to be to accomplish my goals. I would have to practice a lot more than I am now to play in a professional orchestra, and would have to change many of the ways I practice.
