The war goes on... it has been doing so for almost a decade. Nine years ago this Saturday a significant event occurred that would change our nation forever.  September Ninth, Two-Thousand and One started as a normal day in our nation, but many will never forget how it ended. The Al Queda terrorist group sent nineteen men to hijack four commercial jet aircraft. Two of these aircraft were crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City, New York, also known as the World Trade Center. The other two were directed at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia outside of Washington D.C. However only one plane was crashed into this while the other was crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania after the passengers tried to take control of the plane. No passengers survived. Many innocent civilians on the ground were killed also. This day is among the most tragic in our nation and we will remember its incidents and all those lost to it for years to come.

On December 21, 2010, the supreme court handed down a landmark ruling; corporate campaign donations can not be limited due to the first amendment rights of corporations. The case leading to the decision is known as FEC vs. Citizens United. The decision reversed the McCain-Feingold Act of 2002. The question that arises as a result of the decision is, how/will the mid-term elections be affected?

“How Do You Think Adults Should Talk to Teens About Drugs?”

I can sorta connect to Piggy. I mean he was teased a lot on how he was overweight. In elementary school, I was a little over the average. So people(other students) (no names) made fun of me. Calling me fat and all that. I mean, people calling other people fatty and piggy really mean. So all of you out there who are bullies, listen up and stop it. AND, ask your self if you would like other people doing that to you!

I have contributed my experiences in photography on youth voices.  Check out my pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/starrskis/

During my time visiting and using the Youth Voices website, I realized that I contributed a lot of my work. Every time we finished a project or editing a picture, we would write on Youth Voices and share our work with the whole environment. For example, we learned about famous artists and how their work connected to ours. Once we completed our research, we were ready to submit our final work to the Youth Voices website.

A really easy task to do on Youth Voices is finding the post that you want to find. There is a search engine along with keywords so it's really easy. Joining a lot of groups and seeing posts in that group is also really helpful. I feel that having a lot of groups is really organized and having work stored in certain locations is quite easy.

In my opinion, the hardest struggle that I encountered on Youth Voices would be finding all sorts of templates or forms that we had to use. This website is really organized yet it can be very confusing at some points. Overall, this website is easy to navigate and know your way around.

Legalization of marijuana is the topic of which I’d like to talk about. I have heard that marijuana is used for cancer patients to ease pain and make you hungry. Recently there has been a discussion on weather marijuana should be legal in the state of California. At this time California has 215 cards which is used to grow your own plants and sell to dispensaries but these 215 cards have been abused and used for sales to underage children for there use. Marijuana has a chemical in it called THC which is what give you the high and makes you hungry.

I'm learning about more  the BP oil spill right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: How will this years Hurricane season affect the oil spill. I was researching this question online, and this news item caught my attention because it attempts to answer my question.

"A hurricane’s impact on an oil slick has the potential to be greater. The high winds may distribute oil over a wider area, but it is difficult to model exactly where the oil may be transported. In very general terms, a hurricane passing to the west of the oil slick could drive oil to the coast, whereas a hurricane passing to the east of the slick could drive the oil away from the coast."

The color purple is a book about two sisters, Celie and Nettie. Celie has been in many difficult situations. Celie lives with Mr.__ . Mr. always gives hard time to Celie. Why? There was a girl who always tells Celie what to do like, “A girl Always command her. She always dress.” Why does she always do that? Why she always tell her what a woman do? One day a woman came and visited them. She was a singer, but she hate Mr.__ why? When you always see the title of the book you ask this question What they mean ? What is the Color Purple? Let see.

Harpo son of Mr.__. He married Sofia at Sofia sisters house. All Sofia sisters stand up with Sofia, only one of them, her husband stand up for Harpo. Harpo have problems with Sofia, his wife, because Sofia never listens to him. She always act like the men , she leaves the kids with him and go to her sisters house. He try to stop her and tell her that she was married and she should stay home with them and take care of them. It happen on Harpo little creek house for them to stay. In the South of U.S.

Im learning more about the oil spill and in particular what I'm wondering about is why do we care so much about the animals? Humans are dying and losing jobs, and we're worrying about animals. I was researching this question online and this news item caught my attention because yes.

"The gulf’s deeper water harbors 10 species of threatened sharks, 6 species of endangered turtles, manatees, whales and innumerable fish."

The quote I chose here is saying a lot of animals are dying. Thats horrible but we have bigger concerns! The fisherman who lost jobs and stuff. The animals? Cmon.

I think this is horrible because it is killing the animals but it is also killing the humans. It makes me woder why the government let this happen and how it happened.

Normally i am a really calm and happy person but there are somethings that get me really pissed off.

For example, something about emo kids...... all you know is that they;re depressed because of something that happened, right? but what else do you know, there's always so much more to that story.... and if you don't know EVERYTHING, then who are you to judge them? Cutting is wrong.... blah blah blah.... not all emo kids cut to feel the pain... some people i know do it so they can see if anybody would care to stop them, although they won't admit it.

It seems like the recession is getting better because my parents plumbing shop is doing better. We have been getting a lot of good work lately. So things have been better for my family. However my uncle, Scott just got laid off so Im not sure how things are going for other people in the country. Is the economy different in other states or is it the same across the country? People say this has been the worst economical time sense the Great Depression.

According to Newsweek the economical is showing signs of getting better. Growth was fast enough to produce jobs at higher incomes, But it did not generate inflation. A trade group for small firms, found no net job cuts the first time thats happened since April 2008. In 1991 consumers spending and housing accounted for 70% of GDP, By 2005 it was at 76%. Most families over borrowed, over spent and under saved which led to the trouble where in now. Upper income family's where also scared as there stocks fell and there housing values clasped and there jobs vanished. Housing values are coming back slowly and layoffs have subsided to pre-recession levels.

Is the Government spraying chemicals in the air to manipulate weather? I have about this and I thought it would be interesting to do some research on it. Just from the sound of it I don’t think it’s real, but there are some websites and other people that believe that the government is doing this.

From the website http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/chemtrailsindex.htm the government is doing this. It says that some people are experiencing pneumonia like symptoms while others have a natural immunity to it. People can get pneumonia and the whole town isn’t experiencing the same symptoms so I don’t think it’s true. Supposedly some of the bioengineered chemicals can affect only certain racial groups. Lol Racist chemicals. How do you make a chemical that only affects a certain racial group?!?!?

14biswaso: Why did you decide to move to this country?

B.G.: Our family, my wife, and kids, decided to come to this country
because we heard that it was a country of new opportunities. Back in our country
of Bangladesh life was not as easy as life here. There was not enough
protection. Meaning there were many bad people walking around and causing
problems to the community. When out second child cane we found it better if we
moved from all of this chaos. I also needed to find a better job in order to
make it easier and better for my family. We came to America for more opportunities
and a new life.

It's not a very comforting thought to think/know that language can be manipulated in a way to sway people on what they are led to believe. It's even more daunting when you know that it is used heavily in the political system. For a long time, politicians have used the power of speech to blur people's thoughts and even mislead them from the truth, or lead them to think in a certain way.

Today I read an article about President Obama's recent visit to China and his approach to our Global Warming Crisis. When just reading through it casually and not giving it too much thought I didn't think much of it, but going back and focusing on his word choice I found that my thoughts were changed depending upon what was being said. Obama succeeds in making this issue seem urgent and catching my attention in a way that would not have been caught if he would have stated it differently.Obama vows to seek climate action, if not treaty.
