Christmas is coming up, so I decided to go shoot some trees by my house covered in Christmas lights. I went into the shoot not really expecting too much from it. I just wanted to capture the essence of Christmas, and to me, it is all of the bright lights and contrast between the dark nights and the Christmas lights. I framed the photo with the focused Christmas lights in the front with the bokeh effect in the back.
During fall, you could take endless pictures of the outdoors. Fall is just starting, and this was my first photo to express what is just around the corner. I love the colors, and the brightness of the leaves during this season. It is definitely my favorite season of all, and it is one of the best seasons for photo taking in my opinion.
Trees They watch us carefully They feel pain as we humans Chop through their life force As we chop through their roots They cry their tears as they let their leaves fall To the hard and cold ground They don't want us humans They don't want us to destroy their home They don't want this pain They want freedom The freedom to live and feel no pain
Clouds of gray scream of rain,
Horizon covered by the death of tree,
though life envelopes it,
leaves fighting for life on dead carcass,
soon shall die too,
fighting against time,
puff of air,
the source of life,
cease to draw breathe,
thus is the bane of winter's shriek
The sun is the source of all life
but where would the sun be without life
the sun will have no flowers to shine on
no trees to grow
the darkness to light
no dead to bring to life
We are the source of the sun
The sun of life.
Twisted and warped, The victim of many storms, Uprooted and torn from the ground that kept me straight, Crooked and bent, No idea where the rest of me went, No longer a tree, just a shadow of what I used to be.
In photography class today we went on a photo walk and took pictures of the new spring flowers. As soon as we walked outside there was beautiful sunlight coming through the trees and that is how I got this first shot. The second shot most people would not see. There was a hand print in the sidewalk and I told my friend to put her hand up next to it. I covered up what the sidewalk said with the word 'believe'.
This image is for my Shrinky dink project. What i first did of this image was i took a photo of me and then cropped half of my body using photoshop. Later i placed my cropped photo in the image of a tree trunk and it shows as if i were hiding from something. You can only see half of my body coming from behind the tree trunk and the rest of my body, below the waste, is behind the tree trunk. I think this image conveys some my personality hiding from certain people and things. IM a very shy and quiet person and this image of me hiding behind a tree represents my personality not beinq fully exposed to the whole world.
I think that throughout all the photography that I have done I always focused on nature. Recently we have been going on photo walks. We would go to the park or the river and we would take pictures of anything that captured our interest there. We were told that this moment would never be the same, therefore we had to take a picture so we could capture the moment on film. My goal for this class was to create work that I could be proud of. I did not know much about the finer points of photography and usually just took random pictures for fun. I am very glad that I got to learn about lightening and masking and all those things that make a good photograph a great photograph. Throughout this course I tried to take pictures that could mean something to the viewer and pictures that could inspire people.
In my photo class we have been working on forced perspective. After looking at some great photos of forced perspective our class decided to take our own shots with forced perspective. At first I had no idea but then evantually I started noticing all of the cool things that you can take using forced perspective. However, I noticed it is not as easy as one might think. The major problem that I constantly ran into was that I would get either the object up close in focus or the object in back in focus, but never both. Even though this was a big problem I still managed to take one photo that is not only in focus but I also like it a lot. The photo looks like I am going to grab onto a tree in a second. However, I am really over 20 feet away from the tree!
On my first roll of film I took pictures of nature. I love taking pictures of nature. I like being about to show other people exactly how I see things because we all see things differently. It took a little while to get used to how to set the camera up to take a picture but once I got the hang of that they went by pretty smoothly. When I processed the film I realized that many were unfocused or darker than they were supposed to be. On my second roll of film I will make sure to check the lighting and make sure it’s focused.
My best photo's are taken in nature. It might not be the best picture of mine but it's definitely one of my favorite photos that I have taken all year. The picture is of a tree that has a sprout shooting out of the side of it. What makes this photo so good is that the colors are rich and it makes you feel like an ant looking up. The tree looks like it goes on forever, but it was only about 5 feet tall. This picture really represents fall; the colors are bright red, yellow, and green. What could be improved about this photo is that I could have had more things around it, took it from a different angle, or even just changing the colors. Nothing too drastic though.
I think this is a very good picture, because the leaves in the front are perfect in focus and in the background not, which keeps the viewers focus on the front two leaves. I think the branch structure is very interesting because they separate parts of the picture in quarters and triangle, which gives us good diagonals and horizontal lines. Two of the powerpoints are o the leaves and on the left hand side the morning sun fells into the camera and made a little sun-shading on the left leave. Furthermore the viewer gets the feeling of fall, because of the grey and white print mixed with the dieing/falling leaves. To put it in a nutshell I would say it is a good picture, which symbolized the fall in a very and creative way.
This think this picture is good, because the tree is in focus. Furthermore you can see many different lines from horizontal to diagonal. I think this picture is very interesting because when you look at this picture for a long time you will see very many different pictures in it. It reminds me on veins in a human being body and I think trees are in a kid the veins of the nature. The contrast between the tree and the sky is very high which keeps the tree and braches in focus. On the one hand it is a very interesting picture but on the other hand the corners are very blurry and almost gone. All in all I think it is a good picture just because of the idea to see the veins of the nature ina tree but the print is improveable.
My first roll of film I took pictures of scenery, trees, and some soccer photos. When I shot these photos I was thinking about trying to take pictures of trees, flowers, and anything in nature. I was trying to take things that have a peaceful effect to them. They didn’t come out like I thought they would though. When I was ready to take my film out I made a huge mistake and exposed my film to light. That really ruined a lot of my pictures, and I lost a lot of them. The only way I could correct this problem is to not open my camera before I rewind my film! My favorite pictures were this picture I decided to print and another picture with a stop sign in the right corner.
I took this photograph during our last walk near our school. I really like this photo because there was so much texture in just one photo. One thing that I have noticed about taking photographs is that I can focus on a simple subject and make a photograph have a greater meaning to me.
