Soccer

In John Tierney's Op-Ed piece, "Kicking the Soccer Habit," from The New York Times (June 24, 2006), the author summarizes how people pay attention to many sports, but soccer the most entertaining, and has the least amount of breaks than any other sport. Yet not many people tend to watch soccer as much as they watch other sports.

When I was 11 years old I use to be on the soccer team at school .I was the striker meaning I was the forward player for the team .One day we were playing on St Lucy ground opposed a team named pine hill. In the second half of the game the coach transferred me on the field and I racked up my first perfection game goal. I was really excited and everyone started running up to me and cheering me and telling me that was a nice goal we won the game that day and I was the talk of the school for weeks .I felt very excited because I help my school win.

Anyone who is athletic and exercises on a daily basis knows they don't perform well on a stomach full of McNuggets and French fries. But what foods exactly help you perform better?

I was fascinated with this article because, it talks about the history of how (SBU) South Bronx United was created in 2009. Also, it gives information to check out their website, blogs, and their league which is located in the Bronx across from the Yankee Stadium.

Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been soccer. I remember the U.S women’s soccer team talking about it at the beginning of October, but they had to train and get prepared for the Germany Women’s World Cup; they had to leave, and couldn’t answer more questions. Lately, this issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that soccer is not a famous sport for women. From what I have heard, women are succeeding at this kind of sport. For example, I heard that the U.S women’s soccer team has won many games throughout the season.

On a cool November night, Los Angeles was thriving with activity, especially around the soccer stadium. It was the Western Conference finals. The teams: LA and Real Salt Lake.

The game was back and forth, but LA took an early lead and never looked back. With stars like David Beckham and Landon Donovan, the game kept it's intensity.
