Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been the theme of abortion. It is a theme that many people have different opinion on. I would not say either of them are actually wrong on their opinion or if so why they are wrong or that they are right and if so why they are right.I believe it is a highly controversial and debatable matter.

Abortion: Why it's Wrong

How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live? Imagine not having any say in whether or not you want to have a life. Well babies don't have a choice in their mother’s womb. If a woman decides to abort her baby, they can't do anything about their life being taken away from them. Their whole future is demolished. I believe abortion is wrong when committing it for a selfish reason.

The problem with abortion, is that people can’t decide whether it needs to be banned or not. In my opinion, I think you should never kill a baby (fetus). Most people (that I know) think that because the baby hasn’t formed it’s body by the time you abort it that it won’t feel it. But that isn’t the truth.

Abortion is a problem that really in most people’s opinion, is okay but it depends. Whether if they were raped or they made a stupid mistake and that they have a ‘life’ and can’t worry about a baby. In my opinion it shouldn’t depend on anything. Abortion is killing another being. They may not be breathing like us or eating or walking or talking like us but they are still people (Little people). They are just like the people in coma states, but does that give us the right to ‘pull the plug’ on them? No, they should be treated as equals even though they don’t live as you do (yet).

"Leeches, lye and Spanish Fly" written by Kate Manning was powerful.I think it would make a point to young mothers trying to get rid of their babies or even young teens. It's all about the harmful qualities to the past ways of getting rid of a woman's child in the womb.

Paul Whitefield, L.A. times Contraception and Womens Rights – It’s still a Man’s World.

This article is about abortion. Taking the side of letting abortion stay legal. Paul Whitefield clearly states that a woman should be able to have the choice of abortion, and if she so chooses, can have the operation done. This just isn’t about abortion itself, it is about women’s rights, and a women should have the right to do whatever she wants to her own body. No one should tell her what she can and cannot do. It’s her own right.

Should a stranger have the right to decide about a women’s body? My perspective on this issue is that abortion should be a choice in some situations. This view is based on articles and my opinions. Such as life or death situations, teen pregnancy and women’s right.

Ever noticed how everyone who thinks abortion should be legal is already alive? I disagree with that. I think abortion should be illegal. But I also think there are some exceptions. Things like, if the woman was raped, or incest etc. Other than that I don't think that abortion should be allowed because it can increase the risk of breast cancer for the woman. Also because after sometime, a fetus can feel pain during an abortion. Last but not least abortion (murder) goes against many religions.

An average of about 1.3 million abortions are done each year. Abortion is the killing of an innocent human being, which should not be allowed. Most women feel guilty after having an abortion. Many couples are waiting to adopt babies but there aren't enough due to all of the abortions. Abortion promotes careless behaviors amongst people.

I previously discussed the discordant political topic of abortion, looking at both candidates viewpoints on the issue. But now that the election is over and President Obama has been re-elected, will the seemingly interminable debate come to an end as well. There has been talk that the dispute of abortion is far from over. Anti-abortion activists are looking for a new approach to the issue.

Abortion has always been a big issue in elections for as long as I can remember. It is a big issue because people have very strong opinions about it, and if it should be allowed or not. Personally, I believe it it the woman's right to be able to chose what she wants to do with her body. However, this does not mean that i think abortion is morally right in every case. For example, I do not believe that abortion should be used as a form of birth control. I do believe that there are areas where it shouldn't even be a question that it should be allowed, like rape.

In a previous discussion, I talked about the issue of abortion that has come up in the 2012 election. Abortion is a very controversial subject that comes up in politics very often. There are two very different opposing viewpoints, pro-life and pro-choice. The issue of abortion often divides political figures, and is a key arguing point in political debates. While I was raised Catholic and am still Catholic, my view on abortion does not go along with Catholic teaching. Catholic teaching says that abortions are not good because they are destroying a human life.
