However shocking and unusual the ancient story of Gilgamesh may seem at first, it is actually the archetypical Epic. It recounts the Hero’s Journey.
There are many elements in an epic. For instance, in an epic, the protagonist (hero), is described as a person who is larger than life. The prologue announces that Gilgamesh “...crossed the vast ocean, sailed to the rising sun, journeyed to the edge of the world, in the search of eternal life.” (71). This shows me that Gilgamesh is larger than life, because no normal human being would be able to do all that and survive.

Go ask Alice, by Anonymous is a book many readers might appreciate the book because it is a heart racing book where you don’t know what’s right around the corner

The characters are alice who is the protagonist. Alice is having trouble in life a is just trying to go down the right road. I know Alice was in with a boy who was a drug dealer who just used her, but she ended up calling the cops and getting out of that relationship. You can feel for the relationship between Alice and Riche on page #57.”Then Riche showed me how to smoke.”

Recently, I read Harmless by Dana Reinhardt. I appreciated this book. I appreciated the book because the message behind the story was a touching one. From what I understood the message was pretty much is to always think before you act. There are plenty of other messages in the story but I noticed this one more.

We learn something interesting about one of the characters named Brew in Chapter 13 of Down These Mean Streets. On page 122, it says, "Ain't nothing to be sorry about Piri. You ain't said nothin bad. Most people got some kinda complex. Even me.. everybody got some kinda pain goin on inside him. I know you a lil f___... you hate all paddies."

This is typical of how this character acts in this book, so far.He often seems to be the one who appreciates Piri's struggling and understanding being a colored is somewhat difficult to face especially for the eye of the people.

​ Clara and Brittany were good friends from freshman year in high school. Now they were junior and a new girl has came into the school her name was Jordan. When Clara and Brittany they didn't pay her no mind. They didn't think Jordan would of fit into there crowd. One day Brittany went up to Jordan and started a conversation. Brittany introduce her self to Jordan. After 5 minutes of talking, Brittany notice her and Jordan had a lot in common much more than her and Clara did.

I've known Summer for a very long time now, and I mean that. We became closer in 3rd grade on summer vacation, but I feel like we really became best friends in middle school. To this day, I can't understand why she's kept me around for so long, but I can't complain. After all we've been through, I couldn't ask for a better friend to have by my side.

The book "Spoioled" is about family, friendship, a dash of romance, and of course the harships of being the new person in highschool. The book has a total of 268 pages. The book is mainly about teenager from Indiana and then her mother dies and now she knows that her boilogical father of Brick Berlin. The best movie producer in the world! And when she moves to Hollywood, she finds out that she gets to have a sister! But having a sister isn't always a good thing. In this case it isn't. They go through so much DRAMA.

There was a girl name Kelly.

Kelly lived in California she was 17 years old, turning 18 in two weeks. She lived with her mother, father and two brothers. She worked at a clothing store two blocks away from her house. The clothing store was called “Purple Swag.” She loved working there and enjoyed the time spent with the other employees.

This is also her last year of high school and she plans on going to college. The college she had got gotten accepted to was Harvard. She was a good student and a good person at heart.

This book was about a girl that goes to a high school where everyone sees her as being unusual and weird. This book has taught me its best to be the person you truly are rather than fitting in a stereotype. I learned this because many people are attracted to real and natural people who have unique personalities. Through out the book, she does things like sing Happy Birthday to people in the lunch room for everyone to see, play her ukelele, and she even had a pet rat she took to school.

Something I have been interested in learning more about has been "Do my parents trust me?" I remember when my parents were talking about a son of a friend of theirs who got into prison without no evidence of what this boy parents in their house. They told this boy went to the house of a friend to visit him and his parents gave him permission and that same day they police got into the apartment looking for illegal stuff; this boy didn’t know his friend’s dad was a drug dealer. Just because he was there, the police took him and put him in jail for 2 months.

This list of different types of love where originally developed by john lee in 1973. He identified 6 basic styles of love that people use in their relationships. The styles of love are Eros , Ludus , Stroge , Pragma , Mania , and Agape.

Recently, I finished the book, The cupcake Queen by Heather Helper. The book is about a girl that moves from New York, to help her mother and grandma out with a cupcake bakery. School is a very big challenge for her. The "popular girls" keep making Penny feel bad. Thanks to Tally, her best friend things get better. They become very good friends and Tally helps her cope through her hardships.
