The book I am reading is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. The book is a memoir and it revolves around a young Jeannette. It shows you how she lived when she was younger and what she had to deal with. She moves around alot with her family because they are running from the government. Her father fills her up with the idea of a glass castle which gives her hope during the hard times she is going through. They end up living in places like San Francisco, Phoenix, Virginia and places like that.
What are the causes of breast cancer? this question has been around for a very long time and me as a young woman I feel the need to inform myself and others about the causes of breast cancer and some of the ways we can potentially prevent ourselves from getting breast cancer, or even help ourselves become a survivor. I wanted to use this topic mainly because I have two woman in my life who have suffered from this horrific disease. Also, as a girl I feel like I should know more about this disease and the causes of it.
My understanding of this project is to get a sense of how Piri felt in different situations. In my Monologue, what I have to do is talk in front of a camera. I don't talk but somewhat memorize a part for the text and video myself. Also my understanding of the Monologue is a way to present the text without reading. The way my class is doing the Monologue is only your face and voice are seen and heard and nothing to crazy in the background.
This book is a total of 266 pages. Aura and her mom are very alike. When they went to Florida, her mom knew that all Aura wanted to take back home were the mermaids. When they were buying the mermaids, her mother said to the salesman: "We're just alike, me and Aura." Back then the idea of being alike didn't scare Aura but now it does because her mom has schizophrenic and so did Aura's grandfather. And both of them were artists. Aura doesn't want to end up like her mother, being all crazy and just locked up at home. So, Aura thinks she can avoid everything if she doesn't do art.
This book by far is the most saddest book I have ever read. After every few times I picked up the book to get further into reading it made me really emotional. The idea of a poor little girl basically being born and having to go through so many different surgeries because of having cancer is just terrible. Kate Fitzgerald was born with cancer and the doctors thought she was only going to survive until the tender age of five, by some miracle she managed to live well into her teenage life.
I believe in family. I remember when I used to play with my sister when we were young, it was fun. We played with no worries or responsibilities.
Now, we are older and have a lot of worries and responsibilities. We can’t always play around, we have work to do, we have to do our chores.
Usually, when I get home from school I have to do the dishes and clean my room. Then when my mom gets home we spend time with her. Every other weekend we go to are dad’s house because my mom and dad are divorced. We still have lots of fun over there.
Family is very important. Some families are whole and some are split apart. Some families have three people and some more. Both my mom and my dad are divorced. My mom got remarried so now I have a step dad, step sister,and step brother. I feel that the remarrige was good. I want my mom to be happy and I want her to be with someone who will treat her the way she is suppose to be treated.
My name is Taily and there’s so many different areas I have my beliefs in. For example I believe that the most important thing is my family. Without my family I wouldn’t be who I am today. My family, especially my mom and dad are very helpful, caring, supportive and wishes nothing but the best for me and to see me grow up to be successful as I am capable of.

Piri is a twelve year kid is living in New York during the great depression, his mother is a Puerto Rican light skin woman and Piri is very dark skin he got that skin color from his father. As a twelve year old kid Piri notice that his father treats him different then his siblings. He lived half of his life trying to balance the fact or the truth that his father treat him different because of his skin color, or his African American back ground. Piri waist alot of time and energy trying to fit in, he also put him in position were he has to fight in order to keep his reputation.

What is the American Dream? Many hope for the same things, such as money, an education, good health, safety, a home, jobs, money, and opportunity. Ultimately everyone is searching for happiness and success, no matter what that entitles. Immigrants from all over the world come to the United States hoping to achieve the the so called, “American Dream.” The same goes for the protagonist, Sundara in Children of the River by Linda Crew. Sundara’s biggest desire was to get an education and become a doctor.
James Truslow Adams said in his book The Epic of America, “The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement...
Why do immigrants come to America? Many immigrants come for jobs, education or just a good life for their family. A lot of immigrants face many problems coming to America or when they do reach America. They might have a hard time fitting in or speaking the language. Some don’t even achieve the American Dream in many cases. The character of the book,Behind the Mountains by Edwidge Danticat, goes through a lot to achieve her American Dream.
Andre Dubus III, author of House of Sand and Fog, had written in reference to immigrants in America, “Dat's what they say of this cauntry back home, Kath: 'America, the land of milk and honey.' Bot they never tell you the milk's gone sour and the honey's stolen.” Immigrants from the 1700s to modern day have all held one thing dear to their hearts that connect them and explain the reasons for why they come to America, and it is called the American Dream.

There are millions of innocent babies killed every day, not because of accidents, but because of abortions. Have you ever thought to save one of them? People in the world should stop abortion; babies in the world deserve a chance to live.
I was always interested in reading about people’s experience of the holocaust. Although there are a few storytellers due to the remaining people who survived. This story was written by Elie Wiesel, a person who actually was part of the holocaust who explains how was experience. This is unbelievable because barely any human survived. I’m interested in knowing how Elie survived and hopefully by the end of the this book i’ll learn how was it to feel and be in the holocaust. So far from what I been reading it makes me question this book a lot.
The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls is a heart-wrenching book on the struggles of a girl as she travels the country with her family that neglects her.
The book opens with the author's earliest memory: being on fire. After suffering third degree burns, she was placed in the ICU. She was later removed from care prematurely because her parents did not believe that the doctors were sufficient and were running from medical bills.
My cousin is fun, he is very active. He can't stay still he is always dong something. He's very intelligent he has all A's and B's. Well, he has his lazy moments ,everyone does. He's a little jokester. He's very loving. He has a very very outgoing personality.
He is very funny. He is inspirational to others. Just him himself is just uplifting. He lights up everybodies world. He's a cancer. He never makes fun of anyone or is mean. He is very respectfull.
I found an old picture of my grandma along with her friends. The picture was ripped and torn but Photoshop seemed to help a lot with that problem. I used the spot healing brush and the close stamp tool to fix and scratches that had ruined any part of the photo. It was hard to repair a lot of the edges with the spot healing brush, so that is where I decided to use the Clone stamp tool. This photo means a lot to my family, so it is nice seeing the photo at its complete best.
As I learn more and more about Schizophrenia, the reasons behind the disease seem to get broader. Suffering from any illness is a terrifying thing, but when the doctors have no idea why you, of all people have the illness- things get even more frightening.
I choose this topic because I have had a little experience with this whole dropping out situation. When I got to high school this got way harder than middle school , I mean I was struggling in classes and homework was too hard but I didn't just give up because like my mother always says quitters never win and i'm a winner. Some people just don't have that special someone in their life to tell them that they should never give up and thats the reason dropout rates are going higher and higher as seconds pass.
