It is time to accept that Shaquille O'Neal's reign of domincance over the National Basketball Association is coming to an end.  Just last week the Phoenix Suns, Shaq's current team, decided to rest him for one of their games.  Head coach Terry Porter has set up a season-long plan to rest O'Neal periodically during the season.  This is just evidence showing that Shaq is near the end of his career.  Shaq has been around the leagure for roughly seventeen seasons, and has become reknowned for his complete domination of any single game.  Who could forget the game after game where he put up 40 points and 16 rebounds, and it was just another day at the office.  For heaven's sake he even had some of the game rules changed just to prevent HIS dominance!
Whether he was bringing down the backboard during a game, or being the lovable giant off of the court, Shaq will definitly be missed when he finally decides to hang up his size 23 sneakers for good.  So while we stil can see the Big Cactus lumber down the court and slam home two points, we chould jump on every opportunity we have.  How many people can say they were the true real-life fans of one of the greates players of all time.

CHICAGO (AP) -- Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal got the night off against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, part of a plan to rest him periodically throughout the season.

Man I feel different feelings to this. I am happy and sad at the same time. Imhappy because I was never a Shaq's fan. Don't now why. Im sad because he is going to be out of his favorite sport. I will also miss how tall he is and seeing his domination in the court. Thank you for writing about basketball because it's my favorite sport. I feel like Shaq some times in the court.

Dear ohughes:

We liked your article, "The Last of the Giant, " because we love basketball. Even though we haven't watched Shaq he sounds cool.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for us is: "Shaq will definitly be missed when he finally decides to hang up his size 23 sneakers for good."

We think this is amazing because that's huge!  He must be seven feet tall!

Another sentence that we enjoyed was: "So while we stil can see the Big Cactus lumber down the court and slam home two points, we chould jump on every opportunity we have."

This stood out for us because we could imagine him so tall as a big cactus sprinting down the court.

Your image reminds us of something else. One of our cousins is tall and runs fast down the court too.  There is a movie called "Like Mike," and a little kid gets shoes and he becomes like Michael Jordan.  He might have big shoes too.

We are writing this as a class to learn about blogs, and we thank you for writing about basketball, because most of us love basketball.
