Spray-On Solar Panels
On Earth Day this year the solar energy industry introduced the idea of spray-on solar panels. Instead of the large rooftop solar panels these would be put on the windows. Companies are trying to convince architects to use windows to generate electricity using nearly transparent plastic film that can be sprayed on or rolled on with a glue. Inside building they are doing the same thing. The same technology can be used to collect energy from the ceiling.
"It puts energy harvesting everywhere,” says Ken McCauley, a senior vice president at Konarka, a Lowell, Mass., company that is producing electricity from solar cells printed onto thin plastic film.
I think this idea sound very useful and over time, who knows, maybe ever inch of what our houses are made out of will be able to collect energy one day.

I thought the article you chose was very interesting, as well as important. Nowadays, people have to consider saving energy. Solar powered electricity can help save the environment and it is essential for scientist to find new ways to access these appliances. I think the "spray" is actually a really good and unique idea. Every step closer we take to save energy, the closer we will come to a environmental healthy future.
