Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II
I have just recently begun reading the book Chicken Soup for The Teenage Soul II by various authors. It is the second edition of the first book, of which I read already some time ago and liked so much that I began reading the first. The whole idea of the book is that it is a bunch of short stories under different sections pertaining to things that teenagers go through. I think that the whole purpose of this book is to reach out to teenagers and connect to them, saying that whatever they are going through, minor or big, chances are that someone has gone through it before. It serves as a type of comfort, hence the title, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul.
This book covers almost everything, from relationships to cancer to suicide. Some of the stories are a little bit sad, so this is a warning to those who are not into reading those kinds of things. I also believe that some of these stories might be a little outdated, as they were written at least ten years ago, and things have changed since then. However, I do believe that a lot of the cores of the problems that young adults go through are timeless, and these written accounts are still very relateable.
Overall, I really like this book and it actually does stay true to it's title.
